Gunther Comments On Possibility Breaking Honky Tonk Man’s Intercontinental Championship Record

Gunther comments on possibly breaking the record for the longest reign of an Intercontinental Champion in WWE history.

Gunther has held the title for over a year now, with supporters of his pushing for him to break the record set by the Honky Tonk Man.

Speaking with Rick Ucchino on Cincy 3:60, Gunther was asked to describe what breaking the Honky Tonk Man’s record would mean to him, should he be able to snap the record with his own Intercontinental Championship.

“It would be, obviously, a great accomplishment and maybe the biggest accomplishment of my career, to that date. But also, there’s still some time to go, and I try to focus on what’s right in front of me and make the best out of that situation. I don’t try to get caught up in the future with what ifs and what could happen, even though it’s not that far away. I think once it’s all said and done, I’ll be able to lean back and enjoy it a little bit. It would be very rewarding and a big accomplishment,”

We will have to wait and see if Gunther can manage to break the record held by the Honky Tonk Man.

The record currently is at 454 days.
