Jungle Boy Says Promos Aren’t His Favorite, Doesn’t See Himself “Blabbering On For 30 Minutes” Like MJF

Jungle Boy isn’t a fan of promos like some professional wrestlers are, preferring to do his talking in the ring.

One of the critiques of Jungle Boy is that he is not one of the better promos in AEW. He isn’t bad in many fans eyes, but he lacks the charisma of some talent like MJF. MJF is considered one of the best promos in AEW and is consistently praised by fans for his creativity when he has a microphone in hand.

However, Jungle Boy isn’t interested in being like MJF. In a recent interview with Simon Miller of WhatCulture, Jungle Boy addressed how he feels about promos.

“Yeah, with the promo thing, I didn’t really think about that on the indies. All I really wanted to do is wrestling,” he explained. When I was a kid, I wanted to wrestle and do cool stuff. I feel like I’ve got that down. For the most part, I feel pretty competent. I could go in there with anyone in the world and throw down. The promos, I got a lot of flack in the beginning when I said I want to run away when they make me do it. People thought that was a literal thing. It’s an expression.

“It’s not my favorite thing to do,” he continued. “I’m never going to be like MJF and show up and request 30 minutes to go out there and blabber on. That being said, I don’t really care anymore. I’d like to improve a little every time as I go. It is what it is. It’s got to be done. I’m not that worried about it, and I’m feeling more comfortable all the time.”

Jungle Boy is scheduled to face RUSH on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite as he looks to build momentum on his way to AEW Double Or Nothing later this month.
