WWE decided to change the upcoming Night Of Champions Premium Live Event from King Of The Ring to the new name, which surprised many fans.
Little was revealed as to why this was decided to happen, but with the tournament seemingly cancelled, we now know that the new World Title will crown its first champion at the event.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter now reports that the championship is the reason for the name change.
The decision to add the second title was the reason last week the show’s name was changed from King & Queen of the Ring to Night of Champions.

May 27th will serve as the day the first champion will be crowned, with Seth Rollins supposedly leading the charge to be the first champion.
