Raquel Rodriguez Says Some NXT Stars Struggled During NXT 2.0 Transition

WWE went through several changes in the past couple of years, especially in NXT’s case. NXT went from the classic black and gold look to completely changing into the colorful battleground for future talent in the form of NXT 2.0 back in 2021. While NXT is now back to a hybrid between the classic black and gold look, it seems WWE talents had a difficult time adjusting to NXT 2.0 as well.

The new era of NXT brought changes to the women’s division, including the introduction of Toxic Attraction as the dominant force. Of course, that did not last long after Mandy Rose was fired and the remaining members disbanded.

While speaking on The Ringer Wrestling Show, former NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Rodriguez talked about the period of time when many NXT Superstars were simply lost and in limbo after NXT shifted to NXT 2.0 back in 2021.

“It’s so hard to look that far ahead into the future, especially in the positions you’re put in where, you’re right, it was a very confusing time for us, especially us as women with the way the women’s division was changing and the direction it was suddenly going. It was a very confusing time. I remember talking to IYO [SKY] in the locker room, just kind of figuring out what we were going to try to change or bring to the table or what we needed to do to stay in the picture.”

NXT will continue to undergo a lot of changes, especially with Shawn Michaels in charge of Creative. However, with Vince McMahon fully back in the fold of WWE Creative, the question arises whether McMahon will end up getting involved in NXT somehow. We’ll have to see what WWE has planned for NXT in the coming weeks.
