Gunther Says He Isn’t Sure The Man Who Can Beat Him Has Arrived In The WWE Yet

Gunther is fairly confident that he will be dominant for the rest of his career.

Gunther has now been WWE Intercontinental Champion for nearly 300 days and he isn’t sure the man to dethrone him is currently in WWE.

“That we shall see,” he told Ryan Satin of Fox Sports following WrestleMania 39 when asked what was next for him. “[WrestleMania] was my focus, let’s see what happens on SmackDown. I guess I’ll see who is next in line. I’m fairly confident. I’m not sure if the man who is going to be able to beat me if he’s arrived here already. Everybody go out and find him.”

Gunther vs. Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre was heralded as one of the best matches of the week and Gunther retained after he powerbombed Sheamus onto McIntyre.

Asked if he was happy with how the match went, result aside, Gunther said, “Not too worried about that. My mission was to go in there and represent our sport, Imperium, and this title in the best way possible. I achieved that today. I’m satisfied with it.”
