Lio Rush To Replace Josh Alexander For LIVE NJPW x IMPACT Multiverse United Show on 3/30
Moments ago, IMPACT Wrestling took to their social media Twitter account to announce that Lio Rush would be the replacement for former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Josh Alexander at the Multiverse United show on 3/30.
Josh Alexander announced on Friday morning that he’s injured and had to have surgery on his torn bicep. Josh announced he’s relinquishing the title and that a new replacement would be named later for the Multiverse show. Kushida has been in IMPACT as part of the Time Machine group with the Motor City Machine Guns.
Time Machine took on the group of Frankie Kazarian, Rich Swann, and Steve Maclin this past Friday at Sacrifice. The match ended with Kushida tapping out Steve Maclin, who will be his opponent at Rebellion for the IMPACT World Title.
Lio Rush appears to be that replacement. Lio is part of a group called CHAOS in New Japan Pro Wrestling; in his most most recent matches, he’s lost in his quest for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title after being defeated by the champion, Hiromu Takahashi as part of the New Japan Cup 2023 from Nagaoka, Niigata, Japan on March 21….and was also defeated when he took on Robbie Eagles for the RevPro Undisputed British Cruiserweight Title on March 26th from London, England.
