Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley (Motor City Machine Guns) Sign New Contracts With IMPACT Wrestling
IMPACT Wrestling locks in one of their most storied tag teams to new contracts. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley make up the team of the Motor City Machine Guns, due to them being from the “motor city” – Detroit, Michigan.

Shelley and Sabin are the most current former IMPACT Tag Team Champions, losing to the current champs Chris Bey & Ace Austin on the March 2nd episode of IMPACTonAXSTV.
IMPACT comments:
The Motor City Machine Guns formed in 2006 when it was TNA Wrestling. The pair have captured the IMPACT/TNA Tag Titlws 3x as a team. They’re also the current GCW Tag Team Champions, as well as the New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong Openweight Tag Team Champions.
This is big news for Alex Shelley, who hasn’t been under contract with anybody in a few years. Shelley comments:
“This is the first full-time pro wrestling contract I’ve signed in almost five years,” says Shelley. “I pursued physical medicine, and earning that degree was something I needed to prove to myself. Once I had that security and that confidence, I wanted to be back in Impact. It has the most familial bond. There are people here that have seen me grow up from a teenager to a grown-ass man. That’s special to me. Some of the best in the world are right here. There aren’t better wrestlers on the planet than ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey, Jonathan Gresham, Kushida and Chris Sabin. I could go on and on—Frankie Kazarian, Trey Miguel, Black Taurus. These guys are phenomenal.”
The team as slated to pair with Kushida at Sacrifice this weekend to take on Josh Alexander, Rich Swann, and Frankie Kazarian at Sacrifice, and have just recently been announced to take on NJPW group TMDK – Shane Haste & Bad Dude Tito – at the Sacrifice Fallout show.
