Vince McMahon Wanted Snitsky To Be ECW’s Kane

Gene Snitsky appeared on the WWE main roster from 2004 to 2008. The imposing superstar had a character makeover in WWE’s third brand at the time, ECW, in 2007 shaving his head and facial hair.

Snitsky was a dangerous superstar himself, even though it wasn’t his fault. He recently revealed an interesting fact from that time. Gene Snitsky stated that Vince McMahon viewed him as Kane of the ECW brand on the Cheap Heat Productions Podcast.

“It was more like he wanted me to be like the Kane of ECW because that was when they switched over to ECW and had me go over to do the ECW stuff (…) I was fine with it. I got another action figure out of it. I got a beautiful action figure sitting in my office with that exact same look.”

At the time, Kane had a similar bald yet intimidating look. The Big Red Monster was backed by his destructive ways and scary personality, something that Vince McMahon wanted to depict on the ECW landscape through Gene Snitsky.
