Mercedes Moné Is Set To Become A Free Agent Again

Mercedes Moné is currently the IWGP Women’s Champion, having won the title at NJPW Battle in the Valley in February. This was Moné’s first officially sanctioned match since May 2022, and she succeeded in capturing the championship in impressive fashion.

Clearly, Mercedes Mone has been having the time of her life working in NJPW and other promotions in Japan. That being said, fans started wondering whether she would remain in NJPW for long.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that Mercedes Mone has no dates left with Bushiroad after the April 23rd Yokohama Arena show. Therefore, there is a chance she could become a free agent after dropping her title.

“As of right now, Mercedes Mone has no dates left with Bushiroad after the 4/23 Yokohama Arena show.

“Unless that changes, logic would say she would drop the IWGP title to Mayu Iwatani at that show. If Mone wins, it would mean she’s reached an agreement for a longer deal.”

WON

Mone is set to square off against AZM at NJPW Sakura Genesis in Tokyo, Japan on April 8. We will have to wait and see whether Mercedes Mone will end up becoming a free agent. After all, AEW is always open to working with Mone no matter what.
