LA Knight Has Been Pitched To Face Stone Cold Steve Austin

WWE tried their best to lock “Stone Cold” Steve Austin into WrestleMania match, but that couldn’t happen. He rejected a pitch to face Brock Lesnar at the showcase of the immortals, but the company hasn’t lost hope that he will appear at WrestleMania 39.

According to Fightful Select, WWE has made pitches to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin since last year. Steve Austin is in great shape, so he could wrestle a match. Apparently, he hasn’t agreed to anything just yet.

We’ve been told and reported that multiple pitches have been made to Steve Austin since last year. WWE sources believe he’s been open-minded to the possibility of wrestling another match for the right situation and right money, but the offers so far haven’t seemed like either of those. Sources familiar with the situation told us that Austin was pitched a match with Brock Lesnar last summer or fall, but the money associated was a non-starter. Later on, Austin was offered a significantly higher amount to possibly face Roman Reigns, and we’re just told he didn’t get back to WWE on it.

Of late, we’ve heard that a very in-shape Steve Austin was made additional pitches to get on the show, but not for necessarily marquee matches. LA Knight was a name rumored online, and we can confirm that’s at least been pitched. However, nobody close to Austin or in WWE have been able to verify that it’s happening as of yet.

We will have to see if Steve Austin wrestles again. He did work a match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38, but he rejected another opportunity in the Summer, and it appears that Austin will also sit out this year for the show of shows.
