Confirmation That Vince McMahon Did Not View Stone Cold Steve Austin As A Main Eventer In WWE At First

Austin’s rebellious persona and anti-authority attitude resonated with fans, and he quickly became one of the most popular wrestlers on the roster. He engaged in memorable feuds with the likes of The Rock, Triple H, and Vince McMahon himself, and became a six-time WWE Champion and a three-time Royal Rumble winner.

While speaking with Cafe de Rene, WWE Hall Of Famer Jake Roberts confirmed that Austin had thanked him for helping him with his career. He also revealed that Vince McMahon didn’t initially see Steve Austin as a main eventer in WWE.

“Yeah, he’s shown his love several times man. I mean at the time nobody believed in him but me. Vince did not think he was a main eventer. And then he went out and cut that f***** interview and, you know, the rest was f****** history,

Last April, Austin competed for the first time in 19 years when he defeated Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38. We will have to wait and see whether WWE has anything planned for Austin this year as WrestleMania 39 approaches.
