GCW remains a force on the independent wrestling scene, with a reputation for featuring a wide variety of wrestling styles, including deathmatch wrestling. GCW also prides itself on showcasing up-and-coming talent, such as Jordan Oliver, Billie Starkz, and AEW-signed wrestler Nick Wayne. Despite GCW’s history of pushing the boundaries, Joey Janela has expressed a different opinion.
While speaking on K100 with Konnan and Disco, Joey Janela talked about his current opinion of GCW. Janela stated that he believes the promotion is now ‘woke’ and abides by what the internet says.
“GCW’s woke now. It’s a woke promotion. We’ve gotta abide by the internet sometimes. There’s other stuff out there, you know, but we do have a large mix of people [that] come from different places, and that’s what makes GCW cool.”

We’ll have to see how long he stays in the GCW. Although he hasn’t ruled out making an AEW return, Janela is currently happy where he is.
