IMPACT Wrestling makes its way back to the Rebel Complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Sunday April 16th, 2023 for the company’s annual REBELLION Pay Per View.
Throughout the No Surrender LIVE event tonight, we found out that Steve Maclin will be the challenger to the IMPACT World Title at the Pay Per View, whomever that would be – as Josh Alexander had a Title defense to worry about himself.
During the event tonight, Josh defeated Rich Swann and continued his reign as the longest IMPACT Wrestling World Champion in company history.
With Josh officially retaining his World Title, that means he will be putting his title on the line against Maclin in 6 weeks at Rebellion.
Josh Alexander passed up Bobby Roode in January to become the longest reigning champion in company history. His defenses have been against the likes of Moose, Rich Swann, Tomohiro Ishii, Eric Young, Alex Shelley, Joe Doering, Bully Ray, Frankie Kazarian, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey…to name a few. Josh also has a World Title defense tomorrow night (at the TV tapings that will air sometime over the next 4 weeks) against NJPW Strong Openweight Champion, Kenta, as well as an IMPACT World Title defense against NJPW star and Time Machine member Kushida at the NJPWxIMPACT Multiverse United show coming up on March 30th.
Maclin finally gets his chance to take the ball and really run with it. He’s had some incredible matches with Moose, Jay White, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Trey Miguel, Sami Callihan, and Tomohiro Ishii. Lots of fans are looking forward to Maclin possibly ending Josh’s reign IN his hometown of Toronto, Canada.
