Edge Had Interesting Clause In WWE Contract Prior To 2020 Return

In 2010, The Rated R Superstar announced his retirement from the wrestling ring. At that time, he was already one of the most accomplished and decorated performers in the history of the company, with an impressive record of 31 total championships won throughout his career.

It has been three years since he came back to professional wrestling. In the span of three years, Edge has been involved in numerous feuds and excellent matches with the likes of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and more.

That being said, Edge has not won any title since his return. According to a report by The Wrestling Blog, Edge had a clause in his contract, where it was stated that he did not want to win titles during his final run with the company.

“According to some reports I received, when Edge signed his contract back in 2020 one of the conditions from Edge was to not put a Title on him, he wanted to have one last good run giving the fans what they been waiting for years, and helping the young talent.”

Edge recently defeated Finn Balor and Rhea Ripely alongside his wife Beth Phoenix at WWE Elimination Chamber. However, after the events of Monday Night RAW, it is clear Edge will face Finn Balor at WrestleMania 39. We’ll have to see how that will turn out.
