Tony Khan Pushed Very Hard To Lift Warner Bros Discovery’s Ban On The Briscoes

WarnerBros Discovery would not even allow Mark Briscoe on AEW television, even after his brother Jay Briscoe passed away. Then WarnerMedia eventually changed their minds, and Tony Khan had a lot to do with that.

Of course, AEW then announced that Mark Briscoe would compete on Dynamite this week. The company also paid tribute to Jay Briscoe with a wonderful video package. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Melter revealed that Tony Khan pushed very hard despite Warner Bros Discovery being so vehemently against the Jay Briscoe Tribute.

The whole thing is you have to credit that one to Tony Khan. He pushed and pushed. He pushed really hard on this one and got them to change their minds. They were pretty dead set against it.

Mark Briscoe would end up winning his AEW debut match with Jay Lethal in an incredibly emotional match. AEW would also air a beautiful video tribute to Jay, along with the roster coming out to pay tribute at the end of the show.
