Tony Khan Flew Several People In For Jay Briscoe Tribute Show

AEW president Tony Khan flew in who he could for Jay Briscoe’s tribute show last night.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that AEW had to fly in a lot of people at the last minute. The idea was that they were going to produce a Jay Briscoe tribute show. That taping went down, but it required a lot of last-minute travel.

“I’ll tell you what, when it came to this. They found out on Tuesday night about the death. You know, those guys were not booked on the show. Literally at the last second, they had to fly in from the East Coast to Fresno, California with the idea that they were doing a tribute show for Jay Briscoe.”

Of course, WarnerMedia did not allow AEW to produce that Jay Briscoe tribute show on their channel. This all stemmed from regrettable tweets that Jay Briscoe sent out years ago, tweets that he worked very hard to make up for. It is unknown when the memorial show will air.
