Prior to the main card starting for Wrestle Kingdom 17, the company announced that a film about the late pro wrestling legend Antonio Inoki is coming soon. The title of this upcoming film was not given out at this time.
Antonio Inoki passed away on October 1st, 2022, and the pro wrestling world was deeply saddened by this loss. Now, fans will get a chance to see some of the history he was a part of thanks to this upcoming film.
Only time will tell if this will be the kind of project that brings in a larger general audience to possibly convert even more fans to pro wrestling.
