Tony Khan Talks About The Struggles Of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Forbidden Door was a success, but it wasn’t easy.

The Forbidden Door opened wide this year when New Japan Pro Wrestling and AEW collaborated on a show together. E-bike the show was a success, it did have its fair share  of difficulties. Being in two separate countries trying to promote one show can be hard and while speaking to Fightful’s Grapsody podcast, Tony Khan spoke about the struggles he had with the show and even mentioned he was jealous of NJPW’s relationship with ROH.

There were a lot of challenges in promoting Forbidden Door. He said that at one point he had to say “we’ve gotta get some of these guys over from Japan to promote the show.” NJPW having to run their own promotion while sending talent overseas had to be a difficult thing to set up. He said he was originally jealous of the ROH/NJPW relationship.
