Raquel Rodriguez’s Elbow Injury Confirmed As A Work

Raquel Rodriguez arrived to the WWE main roster on the April 8th episode of SmackDown, after a successful stint in NXT. She was recently involved in a feud with Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler alongside her ally, Shotzi. The Survivor Series go-home edition of SmackDown saw Raquel suffer an injury due to a backstage assault, which was further aggravated in a tag team match against Rousey and Baszler later that night.

The former NXT Women’s champion reportedly suffered a broken arm and dislocated elbow in the attack and has been spotted wearing a brace to sell the injury. However, according to a report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Raquel Rodriguez’s injury is not legitimate as she has been wrestling on house shows.

“Obviously the Rodriguez injury is a work as she’s been doing the house shows.”

Raquel Rodriguez’s absence could possibly be presented as a long-term injury to plant the seeds for a potential feud between herself and Ronda Rousey over the SmackDown Women’s championship, sometime next year. We will have to wait and see what’s next for the former NXT Women’s Champion.
