Chris Jericho Can’t Believe Pro Wrestlers Don’t Have A Union

A union in professional wrestling has been a controversial topic for many years.

While speaking with Howie Mandell, Chris Jericho talked about the lack of unions in pro wrestling. Jericho made it clear that he thinks it’s crazy there isn’t one.

We will have to wait and see whether pro wrestling will ever end up getting a union or not. There’s no unions for wrestling, which is kind of crazy because we’re on TV,” Jericho said. “It’s not [the Screen Actors Guild]. … And that would be the only way it could ever be unionized, is if SAG stepped in to do it. Wrestling started as kind of a carny type of a sport in the 30s,” Jericho stated. “I just think it’s one of those things that has never caught up, for whatever reason.

A union would be good in some ways, I’m sure. And probably hinder you in other ways, which is why probably they don’t want to get into it.”
