Nick Aldis Clarifies His Comments Regarding NWA Being Toxic

Is NWA Toxic?

Former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, Nick Aldis, announced on November 6th that he’s giving his notice to NWA. Following this, NWA suspended Aldis and pulled him from upcoming shows. Nick then took to his instagram to post a message to his fans and in that statement, he said that the NWA has become the most toxic wrestling promotion. Now, talking to Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc., Nick Aldis clarified his comments, stating that he’s not trying to get into the political side of the situation, but he believes brands should do their best to be apolitical. He also notes that he thinks NWA owner Billy Corgan has been ignoring the fans and doing the opposite of what they want.

I’m not trying to get into the political stuff. That’s not interesting to me. Politics in this country is very, very split. Very divided. I’m a centrist. However, I feel like as a brand, you should do your best to be apolitical as well. … That’s not really the meat of the matter. Nick Aldis continued by saying he disagrees with the way Corgan runs the company.

At some point, it feels like he’s sort of deliberately going against one the fans are asking for, and it just feels like a very spiteful approach. I just don’t think that it’s got anything to do with business. I think it’s just to do with ego.

NWA Hard Times 3 PPV this past weekend ended with Tyrus becoming the Worlds Champion, which left a sour taste in many fans mouths.
