Jay White has helped Something out.
Jay White is one of the top stars in pro-wrestling and in New Japan Pro Wrestling, so his word carries weight and travels far. former IMPACT superstar Jake Something had finished up with the company, but right before he left, Jay White helped him out. Fightful Selects, Sean Ross Sapp reported that Jay White was the one to put in a good word for Something with Strong.
Jake Something is one of the top available free agents in wrestling, and he holds no ill will after leaving IMPACT Wrestling. Jake spoke with Fightful at a recent Black Label Pro event, and he said that despite leaving IMPACT Wrestling, he really enjoyed it. He said that it was time for him to move on, and he did have an offer to stay, but he had to see what else was available and had to bet on himself. He stated that things ended amicably. He had some matches in New Japan, and said that a lot of people helped him get spots there. Switchblade Jay White actually came up to him during Jake’s last day in IMPACT and said he was going to try to help land him in New Japan Strong. As is tradition, Rocky Romero reached out and put things together to bring him in. Jake said that he shot some emails to people connected to AEW, and that’s how he landed the spots on Dark. He said that doing that has helped him open doors for a long time. He recalled one time when he drove 17 hours to Florida for an IMPACT show, and Lashley pushed for them to sign him. He was comfortable in the AEW locker room because he’s worked with most of that talent before, and said it was a good experience.
