Moments ago, New Japan Pro Wrestling took to their social media Twitter account and announced that the Motor City Machine Guns won the NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Titles in a match with the now former champs Aussie Open and DKC & Kevin Knight at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Rumble on 44th street event in New York City tonight.
A few days ago, Aussie Open were set to defend their tag titles against DKC and Kevin Knight. They acknowledged a Motor City Machine Gun victory over them from a few weeks ago, so they also laid down the challenge to the Machine Guns to be part of the tag title match.
Aussie Open popped back up in IMPACT Wrestling this past weekend for TV tapings and appeared on the show yesterday, saying they wanted to fight the best and issued an open challenge. A team of IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Josh Alexander & AEW star Frankie Kazarian will be taking on Aussie Open next week on the IMPACTonAXSTV episode.
