Bryan Danielson is one step closer to becoming AEW Champion.
After CM Punk was stripped of the AEW Title, it was announced that a tournament will occur to crown a new champion at AEW GrandSlam in two weeks. The tournament kicked off tonight with Bryan Danielson going one on one with Adam Page. These two have battled in the past, with one being a draw and the other hangman got the win. Now, in their third meeting, Bryan Danielson picked up the win to advance in the tournament. He will now go on to face Chris Jericho, who got a tournament by, on next week’s Dynamite in the semi-finals.
Sammy Guevara vs. Darby Allin will go down this on Rampage Friday on TNT, with the winner going on to face Jon Moxley, who also got a by, for the other semi-final match.
