Timeline On Kenny Omega’s AEW Contract Expiring Revealed, AEW Can Extend Due To The Time He Missed Through Injury

The former AEW World Heavyweight Champion’s contract will expire sooner than fans may expect.

Kenny Omega has been out of action for a long time with a multitude of injuries he needed procedures to prepare. His last match being at Full Gear 2021, Omega has been out for almost a year.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter addressed when Omega’s contract is set to expire with AEW.

Kenny Omega signed a 4-year deal with AEW on Feb 1, 2019. So his deal would in theory be up in Feb 2023. However, AEW has the contractual right to extend Omega’s contract for roughly another 9 months based on being out of action for a lengthy period of time.

Omega is expected to return to action next week to be The Young Bucks partner in the AEW Trios Tournament that kicks off next week on AEW Dynamite.
