AJ Styles had his eye on one legend that unfortunately he was unable to face at the spectacle that is WrestleMania.
AJ Styles has faced The Undertaker at WrestleMania as well as Edge this year and has developed a habit of facing big legends at Mania and has been more than open in the past about wanting to face off with Shawn Michaels.
Fightful Select recently spoke to AJ Styles and the idea of him facing Triple H in the ring came up.
“Well, the last person I tried was Triple H. I didn’t get him. I don’t know who the next guy is or if there will be another one. Now we’ve got the younger talent coming up. Maybe I’m the match that they would like to have. I would like to have some good ones before I retire. Who knows? I don’t know who’s going to be next. None of us do. We’ll just have to see what happens.”

Styles did not feature on the SummerSlam card at this past weekends event and came up short on RAW in a US Title mini tournament where he would lose in the final vs Ciampa.
