Jeff Jarrett “Worked Out” Things With WWE In Order To Wrestle In Ric Flair’s Last Match

Double J is going to have a busy SummerSlam weekend later this month.

Jeff Jarrett is set to pull double duty that weekend as he will ref the unified tag title match at SummerSlam before stepping into the ring for Ric Flair’s Last Match.

Many fans have wondered why Jarrett was allowed to compete in the match while signed to a WWE contract. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained why Jarrett is allowed to wrestle at the Ric Flair event. The whole thing has been cleared with WWE and fans shouldn’t expect them to intervene at the last minute.

“With Jeff, the thing with Jeff is that Jeff doesn’t have a talent contract. So legally, even though he’s actually a vice president of the company… He can wrestle this match. I mean, I know a lot of people think that because Conrad [Thompson] in the past had booked WWE guys, including Ric, to do major things at his conventions and then WWE pulled them, that that is going to happen here, but that’s not going to happen. This has all been worked out.”
