Kennedy Nzechukwu Needed To Win To Help His Mother Battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease

Kennedy Nzechukwu picked up a win at UFC on ESPN 39, but he was battling for more than just a MMA win.

After snapping a two fight losing streak, Kennedy is back in the win column. The win was great to get himself back on track, but the win bonus will go towards helping his mother who’s battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Kennedy Nzechukwu spoke with the UFC media to talk about how much the win means to him.

This win means a lot to me because my mother has Lou Gehrig’s disease Als lateral sclerosis – it’s a muscle debilitating disease, I’m her primary care giver, so I don’t really have much of a life beyond going to church, training and taking care of her. This means a lot because of my mom.

– Kennedy Nzechukwu via UFC Post-Fight Press Conference

Kennedy joined UFC back in 2018 after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series and is now 4-3 in the UFC.
