Another name to the injury list and another championship vacated.
Ilja Dragunov captured the NXT UK Championship from Gunther in August of last year and was nearing an almost year long reign with the championship but per Inside The Ropes, at the most recent NXT UK tapings, Ilja Dragunov was forced to vacate his NXT UK Championship due to injury. The nature of the injury was not disclosed but he was wearing a walking boot.
It was also announced at the taping that an eight-man tournament would be held to crown a new champion. Time will tell who will walk away with the tournament win but for now, the NXT UK Championship will remain vacant.
