Jim Ross Now Calling AEW Rampage And Second Hour Of Dynamite

Jim Ross will be changing up his AEW commentary schedule.

There has been much made about Jim Ross’ commentary over the last few days. He would not be part of the booth for a large portion of Forbidden Door, while also only joining the AEW Dynamite announce team as we crossed into the second hour of the program. Now, we appear to know the backstage decision as to why JR has had a different schedule as of late.

Dave Meltzer discussed the change on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. Ross will join Rampage on Friday nights, while Dynamite sticks with the formula from the first hour of yesterday’s show.

“The deal with JR is, it looks like, at least this week because they’re doing an experiment, but it looks like JR will do the second hour of Dynamite and he’s going to be moved to Rampage on Fridays as well. He announces the entire Rampage show this Friday night.”

Time will tell if this will be a permanent change for the AEW Announce team but for now, Tony Khan is looking to experiment with a few change ups. JR’s new schedule could also be a result of the treatment he is receiving at current.
