According to Marcel Dorff of EuroSports, NL, the matchup between Song Yadong and Cory Sandhagen is targeted to headline UFC Fight Night on September 17, 2022. The matchup was first spoken about in the tweet below:
obviously the fight has yet to be made official, but this is a huge fight for the Bantamweight division. Cory Sandhagen is currently riding a two fight losing streak after being beaten by TJ Dillashaw & Petr Yan, with the latter being October 30, 2021. Song Yadong on the other hand Song Yadong is riding a three fight win streak, with the latest being against Marlon Moraes when he knocked him out in round one back in March of this year.
If this fight were to take place, this is a huge step in the division for both men and one of the most interesting matchups to make right now. We will keep up with this story and post any updates on the potential fight.
