This story continues to go down the rabbit hole.
It appears that at least inside the confines of the WWE corporate ladder, no one pushed Stephanie McMahon out the door of the WWE for her hiatus. While Stephanie did cite spending time with her family as the reason, it is strange that Triple H returned to an active role within the WWE right around the time Stephanie’s hiatus began. There have also been reports that it was Vince McMahon himself who pushed Stephanie out the door.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that some in WWE have said that Stephanie wasn’t pushed out of the company:
Those that were involved with WWE ahead of the Nick Khan regime were letting people know that wasn’t the case even [she was pushed out] before the news dropped. However, some hires in the new regime were quick to say that there were performance issues and things to improve upon, but not along the lines that it was something that caused the end of her job. Sources from both regimes say that the decision was hers.
