Cody Rhodes Likely Injured With A Torn Pec, Expected To Complete HIAC Match

Cody Rhodes doesn’t lay down for anyone and he certainly doesn’t back down when in pain.

It looks like there is more to the story regarding Rhodes being pulled from last night’s Saturday Live Event. While it was unclear if it was a work or otherwise, it appears now it is a legitimate injury to Cody’s pectoral muscle.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that Cody inured himself lifting weights.

“Cody was injured lifting weights. From what I gather, it’s a pretty serious injury. My impression is that he is working the match tonight with the injury and I guess will get it taken care of later. The injury is legit. Everything that I heard was that he was working tonight. The doctors may say you can’t, I don’t know. It’s not an in-ring injury, it was a weightlifting injury.”

It looks like Rhodes will look to wrestle through the pain for Hell In A Cell, but will likely be out of action for a while after the match. This could lead to Seth winning as Cody may miss a few months with this injury.
