Possible Injuries CM Punk Is Suffering, How Long He Could Be Out For Each One

CM Punk has had a rough go of it since winning the AEW World Title. He ended up injuring himself on Wednesday night and on AEW Rampage, Punk announced he would need surgery for a broken bone in his left leg but he will not be relinquishing the title, with an interim champion to be crowned at Forbidden Door.

Punk likely hurt his leg/foot on Dynamite coming off the top rope for a springboard, Punk slipped and landed with all his weight on his left leg and following the botch struggled on the foot for the remainder of the match. Punk stated he has broken bone(s) in his promo tonight.

Looking at the match and the way Punk is able to walk on the injury – say its likely his ankle. That bone breaks you’re gonna need surgery. Surgery for a broken ankle recovery time is roughtly 6-12 weeks. Pushing 12 if an interim title is needed.

If its his shinbone (his tibia) and needs surgery he would likely be out till the end of the year. In this case fans would expect the championship would have been vacated. It could also be a broken foot but again, 6 to 8 weeks doesn’t feel long enough to warrant the interim title.

Another possibly is a broken kneecap but again, if the injury was related to his knee and based off the match where it happened, Punk would likely have torn a muscle if it was knee related. If it is a fracture of the knee, 3-5 months on the shelf.

Punk will now begin his hiatus to have his surgery. Time will tell what kind of injury CM Punk has.
