Wardlow Comments On His Push Mirroring His Idol Batista’s Rise To Fame

Wardlow has been on a rocket ship to the top of AEW for a while now.

His feud with MJF has been booked to perfection, as Wardlow continues to be treated like a terrifying threat. We have witnessed Wardlow take on an army of security, take his lashes like a champ and this Wednesday he faces Shawn Spears in a steel cage match.

Wardlow spoke to CbsSports.com and discussed how his push mirror’s his idol Batista’s rise to the top of WWE.

“The crazy thing [is] that we did without even realizing it. We kind of mirrored it in a way. It was very different, but also the same. The crazy thing is this wasn’t my idea. I didn’t have any say so in this. It just organically happened. My career just seems to be mimicking a little bit of a Batista’s. You can compare The Pinnacle to Evolution and you can compare myself and Max to Triple H [and] Batista. It has really unfolded very similar to how that did. It’s a real special thing because we didn’t plan it that way.”

Wardlow will look to earn his way out of his contract with MJF this weekend at AEW Double Or Nothing. After that, he may be on the road to becoming AEW World Heavyweight Champion.
