UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Vieira Results – 5/21/22

UFC presented their UFC Fight Night event on Saturday May 21, 2022 live from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The program featured the return of former Batamweight Champion Holly Holm taking on the dangerous Ketlen Vieira. The results are below:

Sam Hughes defeats Elise Reed via Round-Three TKO (punches)

Sam was having some trouble on the feet in the first round, but switched up her game plan, took it to the mat and dominated. Now, after a one month turn around, Sam Hughes continues to ride a wave of success.

Chase Hooper defeats Felipe Coleares via Round-Three TKO (Punches)

Chase Hooper is coming off a loss and a one-year layoff. Cage rust non-existent as he outclassed his opponent and becomes the first person in history to finish Coleares. Hooper kept the pace high the entire fight and wrestled his heart out before getting the ground and pound victory. Phenomenal performance.

Jonathan Martinez defeats Vince Morales via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Martinez secured a big win in the division and is now on a three fight win streak, which is huge in the bantamweight division and could soon be a contender.

Uros Medic defeats Omar Morales via Round-Two Knockout (Punch)

Uros walked into this fight coming off of his first loss, but he didn’t let that loss get him down. He is right back on the sattel after a smooth second round knockout. After the fight, he says he had some battles in his head that he had to face after his loss, but he trained his ass off and this is the result.

Jailton Almeida defeats Parker Porter via Round-One Submission (rear-naked choke)

Jailton Almeida makes quick work of his opponent, becoming 2-0 in the UFC and on a 11 fight win streak. Impressive start of his UFC career and even more impressive that he fought up a weight class here in heavyweight. Presumably he will fight at light heavyweight for his next fight. Keep an eye out for Jailton.

Joseph Holmes defeats Alen Amedovski via Round-One Submission (rear-naked choke)

Joseph knocks down Alen with a flying knee, jumped on his back and that was the beginning of the end. Holmes is coming off a January loss but is now back in the win column in impressive fashion.

Jun Yong Park defeats Eryk Anders via Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Jun Yong Park was coming in off of a knockout loss. But, now won four out of his last five. A very close fight for both men, but in the end Park pulled out the victory.

Tabatha Ricci defeats Polyana Viana via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Tabatha took her first loss in June, but has now come back with two victories in a row in convincing fashion.

Chidi Njokuani defeats Dusko Todorovic via First-Round Knockout (elbow)

Chidi is on a four fight win streak, all finishes with another one coming in the first round. Dusko tried to make this a grappling match, but with ten seconds left in the first round, Chidi threw an elbow off the break that smacked across the temple and caused a victory for Njokuani. What a highlight reel so far.

Michel Pereira defeats Santiago Ponzinibbio via Split Decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28)

Michel wins an absolute war, in which the fans appropriately named the “peoples fight”. Pereira is now on a five fight win streak, which is now michel’s biggest win to date. After the fight, he calls for a ranked fighter, naming Jorge Masvidal specifically.

Ketlen Vieira defeats Holly Holm (48-47, 48-47, 48-47)

Ketlen gets another win over a former champion and spoils the return of Holly Holm after a two year lay-off. The fight was a split decision that was very close, with questions looming who the real winner was. After the fight, Holly Holm argued that she believed she won, but ultimately the judges sent it the other way. Ketlen Vieira reigns supreme.
