Kevin Owens And Triple H Expected A Match Against Each Other

A dream match that we never got to see was expected by both combatants.

Kevin Owens has had an interesting WWE career. He signed with the promotion and joined NXT in the early 2010s and since then, Owens has been one of the best in the company. At WrestleMania 38, Owens would welcome Stone Cold Steve Austin back to the ring for one last match so the company clearly trusts him to protect fragile opponents.

While speaking with TalkSPORT, Kevin Owens talked about Triple H’s retirement from in-ring competition. Owens revealed that he and Triple H assumed they would have a match together eventually.

“I think I echo what everyone has said; it’s very unfortunate in the way he [Triple H] didn’t get to retire in the ring, but he made the right decision for himself and his family. So that’s the right decision, it’s a good decision. Selfishly, I wish I would’ve had the chance to wrestle him and he and I talked about that before. I think we both assumed that eventually, it was going to happen. It won’t be able to happen but in the grand scheme of things, who cares, ya know?”
