Sting Files Trademark For Energy Drink

Sting is one of the more recognisable pro wrestlers of the last 30 years. Thanks to his run’s in WCW, IMPACT, WWE and now AEW, he has been a consistent household name in professional wrestling. He has been more than successful in and outside of the ring and now seems to be jumping into another industry.

According to USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) documents, Sting submitted a trademark application for his signature “Icon” term. Surprisingly, the trademark application concentrates on the term’s use with energy drinks and related items. The trademark filing is as follows:

Energy drinks; Energy drinks containing caffeine; Energy drinks enhanced with vitamins, minerals, or nutrients; Non-alcoholic drinks, namely, energy shots.

The papers could eventually be a means for Sting to safeguard his brand, given there is already a Sting Energy Drink on the market as trademarks are very strict.

Time will tell if and when Sting will step into the energy drink market. What do you make of this news? Lets us know in the comments or on our social media pages.
