WWE Considering Splitting The Mysterios

WWE’s first ever father and son tag team champions may not be together for much longer.

Dominik Mysterio has been around professional wrestling from a young age but over the last few years, we have witnessed Dominik grow as a professional wrestler. Since debuting, he has been teaming with his father Rey Mysterio. Of course, Rey’s legacy is undoubtable. The pair have won the tag team titles and were involved in a match with Logan Paul and The Miz at Wrestlemania 38.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE could be planning on splitting up Rey and Dominik Mysterio once they return to TV:

“Rey Mysterio has of late gotten more stem cell treatments for injuries. Dominik Mysterio hasn’t been used with the idea he’s injured from Mahaan. There is at least talk of them not being put together going forward, although, without the connection to Rey, there’s really not much they can do with Dominik on the main roster. They had built to an angle some time back where Rey basically told Dominik it’s time for him to go on his own, and then it was promptly forgotten. And they’ve done a number of angles building to a split that were then dropped, so it appears when it comes to them, ideas are started and dropped all the time.”

Time will tell if this makes it to TV. Do you think WWE splitting up the father and son team is a good idea? Let us know in the comments!
