The qualification stage of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament is officially over and this week the tournament will finally begin for the men’s and women’s brackets.
As its usual with AEW tournaments and special matches, the men and women’s brackets will have jokers and there’s always a lot of speculation on who are these surprise wrestlers for each bracket. A lot of names come in the minds of wrestling fans.
The tournament also features a of interesting match-ups and a lot interesting possibilities for this amazing tournament paying honor to one of the best wrestlers ever in Owen Hart.
Men’s Bracket
Most of these match-ups are so interesting, from Jeff Hardy facing Darby Allin, someone who clearly was inspired by him. Two daredevils trying to out daredevil the other. Dax Harwood vs. Adam Cole is going to another those match-ups that will surprise a lot folks when we see this match.
Kyle O’Reilly vs. Rey Fenix is a clash of styles and this going to be amazing, this match will not disappoint.
Samoa Joe has the luck or not of facing the joker of the men’s bracket. There’s a lot of interesting names that could be the joker, from Claudio Castagnoli (AKA Cesaro) or maybe a surprise NJPW wrestler like a Shingo Takagi, the possibilities are endless.
Women’s Bracket
The women’s tournament also looks exciting on paper. We have the most talked about match of the first round, a clash of titans between Jamie Hayter and Toni Storm.
Red Velvet vs. Hikaru Shida could steal the show and surprise most fans. Soho vs. Riho is also a match that is going to be solid.
Britt Baker has the luck of facing the joker of the tournament and there’s some names people think who this joker might be, from Mickie James to Athena (AKA Ember Moon), or if you want to go crazy someone from STARDOM. the speculation is nuts.
