WWE releases tend to come in droves at several times in the year. It feels like NXT is a revolving door of releasing and signing new talents. Not to say that there isn’t many releases on the main roster also. Most recently, Dakota Kai, Dexter Lumis and Malcolm Bivens were released, along with seven other released talents.
Ringside News has been told by a tenured member of the creative team that, “releases are being kept very quiet and private until they happen.” In essence, the creative team has no idea who might not be around on a week-by-week basis at this point, but they are still tasked to write a show with the utmost continuity.
They were also able to independently confirm that “important players” on the NXT writing team knew about those cuts a week ahead of time. They planned to release that list of 10 stars a week prior, but the decision was made to hold off. The main roster writing team currently “has no idea” who might be on their way out at this time.
Time will tell if further releases will be on the way and if more storylines will be effected by the unpredictable factors.
