The road back to the middleweight crown just got a little longer for former champion Robert Whittaker. The fighter announced on his Twitter account Wednesday that he had suffered an injury and will not be able to compete at UFC 275 where ‘The Reaper’ was scheduled to take on fellow former title contender Marvin Vettori.
Whittaker was looking to bounce back following a close decision lost to Israel Adesanya, while Vettori now waits to find out if he will be fighting a new opponent or the Whittaker fight will be rebooked. Vettori has since called out Darren Till and Khamzat Chimaev to step in for Whittaker.
Any further details about the new fight booking will be broken on Bodyslam.net.
