Scott Coker: Fedor Emelianenko Retirement Fight Not Happening In Moscow

Fedor Emelianenko may be one of the greatest of all time, but it looks like his final fight will not take place in his home nation of Russia. Scott Coker, president of Bellator MMA stated “It’s definitely not going to happen in Moscow this year,” Coker said. “We’re not gonna do Fedor’s retirement fight there for obvious reasons. We’ll be looking for an alternative site at some point, but we’re going to sit down with Fedor when he comes to [Bellator 277] in San Jose and see what he’s thinking.”

With the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Russian athletes continue to pay the price for their nations invasion of Ukraine. It seemed that UFC London would lose one of its headliners, with Alexander Volkov hailing from Russia but it appears the UFC have found a way to keep the card intact.

More on Fedor’s retirement fight will be posted as the news becomes available so don’t forget to check Bodyslam.net.
