UFC 271: William Knight Hit With 40% Purse Fine For Missing Weight By 12 Pounds
UFC light heavyweight William Knight has been hit with a 40% fine for missing weight for his Light Heavyweight Bout with Maxim Grishin on the UFC 271 card. Knight accepted the fight on short notice and ended up missing weight by twelve pounds over the light heavyweight limit of 205 pounds. The UFC announced the news shortly after his weigh in, also announcing that the bout would now be at heavyweight.
Since winning a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in September of 2020, Knight has gone 3-1 in the UFC with his latest win coming at UFC on ESPN 31 back in December where he defeated Alonzo Menfield via Unanimous Decision.
