Mark Henry discusses WWE Brand Split

Mark Henry joined Ryan McKinnell on the Sirius XM Busted Open Podcast on Sunday, and in the course of their discussion, mentioned his thoughts on the current state of the Brand Split in WWE.

This comes on the heels of Ronda Rousey and Goldberg appearing on SmackDown this past Friday night to set up title matches with Charlotte Flair and Roman Reigns respectively. This also comes after Big E was shuffled to SmackDown a couple weeks ago following his Day 1 loss of the WWE Championship.

On the show on Sunday, Henry took umbrage with WWE shuffling around talent.

You know, I know the answer to this, but I thought there was a brand split. I thought that people on Monday do Monday things, and people on Friday do Friday things. I want them to miss me with that. I’m tired of it. We do all the defenses, well, you know, it’s the brands, FOX and USA…listen, if y’all going to mash ’em, then just mash ’em. Make one set of titles for the company. If one brand does not have the title on it, then have the No. 1 contender on the other brand. Then the pay-per-views can be challenges. It’s ridiculous, man. If you’re going to do it, do it… or don’t. I was in defense of it all these years, but I’m just tired now. I feel like my intelligence is being insulted. Keep people where they belong

As of right now, Goldberg will be taking on Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia, and Ronda Rousey will face Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania in Dallas.

It was also a big weekend for Henry as his son Jacob took home a District wrestling championship, a feat which the World’s Strongest Man and proud dad shared on Twitter.
