Jan Blachowicz Out Of UFC Columbus, Cites Spinal Injury

Former Light Heavyweight Champion Jan Blachowicz is out of his March 26th bout with Alexsandar Rakic. The Polish fighter addressed his withdrawal from the bout on Twitter, citing a “spinal injury close to his neck”. However, both Jan and Rakic still want this fight to happen, with Rakic also sending his best well wishes to the former champion.

Unfortunately I will not fight March 26th at #UFCColumbus. I have an injury in my spine around the neck area. That makes it impossible to train with heavy weights. I need to fix that now.

I hope we will meet with @rakic_ufc in the octagon in the first half of this year. 👊
