10 UK Wrestlers To Keep An Eye On In 2022

UK wrestling returned with a bang mid way through the year with some excellent shows up and down the country, with some incredible matches, as well as the emergence of some truly remarkable young talents making a name for them selves all over the country.

This article will take a look at some of the top young stars on the British Independent scene who it will certainly be worth keeping an eye on in 2022.

Ricky Knight Jr (RKJ)

RKJ is a member of the famous Knight family and is the cousin of WWE superstar Paige, RKJ (21) went toe to toe with one of the best wrestlers in the world right now in Will Ospreay at Rev Pro UK’s High stakes show and did not look out of place. RKJ can be seen wrestling for Rev Pro UK, British Wrestling Revolution, World Association Of Wrestling and more.

Harley Hudson

Still very early into her career Hudson really started to make a name for her self on the UK Scene. 9 stone of Scouse power, Hudson managed to win the Wrestle Island power up brief case during a showcase at TNT Extreme’s Extreme Fields, she is set to challenge Alexxis Falcon for the Wrestle Island Championship in the neat future. Hudson has just started to appear with TNT Extreme in Dark matches but can also be seen competing for Wrestle Island, Superstar Pro Wrestling and Catch Pro Wrestling among others.

Chantal Jordan

With a legit background in kick boxing Chantal Jordan burst onto the scene quickly becoming one of the most must see performers on the UK independent scene. In 2019 she made appearances for over 25 independent promotions. Jordan recently faced Alexxis Falcon for the TNT Extreme Championship and is the current Kamizake Pro Champion, she can also be seen competing for Pro Wrestling Eve, Catch Pro Wrestling and even made her Rev Pro UK debut in 2021.

Callum Newman

The Protege of Will Ospreay of course he would make the list at 19 years he has already become a regular performer for Rev Pro UK competing against some of biggest stars including Will Ospreay, RKJ, Shota Umino and more. For obvious reasons he is often compared to his mentor but Will himself has said that at a comparative age he believes Callum Newman would be ahead of him. One of the top high flyers of the UK scene nicknamed the “Prince Of Pace” Newman can be seen competing for Fight Nation wrestling, British Wrestling Revolution, Tidal Championship Wrestling and many more.

Destination Everywhere

Some what cheating here, as Destination Everywhere is made up of 4 of the top young competitors British Wrestling has to offer in Michael Oku, Connor Mills and the tag team Northern Ireland Collection (N.I.C) Osin Delany and Charlie Carter. Oku is typically seen as the leader of Destination Everywhere, the Current Rev Pro UK Cruiserweight champion and is due to challenge Will Ospreay at Rev Pro UK’s High Stakes 2022 for the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. All 4 members of Destination Everywhere have made appearances for Rev Pro UK and Progress Wrestling but are regularly booked as a 4 man stable for Purpose Wrestling.

Tom Thelwell

Thelwell is one young competitor who has been making a name for himself in the North West of England, he has had a stand out 2021 winning the TNT Ignition Power Up Brief Case and winning the Catch Pro Enygma series to become the Catch-Weight Champion. Tom Thelwell has become a regular competitor for Catch Pro Wrestling, TNT Ignition Wrestling and Tidal Championship Wrestling but expect to see more of him all over the country in 2022.

Daz Black

Black originally from the North East of England has become a regular fixture on the WWE Network via ICW in 2021 even becoming the ICW Zero G Champion. A high flyer with good size to him Black has been one of the stand out young performers in ICW and there was plenty of competition in that respect. Expect to see Daz Black branch out more all over the country in 2022 now that UK is hopefully opening back up.

Hannah Taylor

Taylor is beginning to break through on the UK Wrestling scene but has managed to make appearances for some the UK’s top promotions including Rev Pro UK and TNT Extreme Wrestling. Taylor can also be seen competing for Superstar Pro Wrestling, Wrestle Island, Tidal Championship Wrestling and more, expect to see much more of Taylor in 2022 as she continues to grow from strength to strength.

North West Strong

Another cheat here as North West Strong is made up of 7 of the best wrestlers in the UK, lead by the experienced Chris Ridgeway, training at the Future Shock Wrestling Accademy. Ridgeway has brought in together a group of incredibly talented young wrestlers including; The Young Guns Ethan Allen and Luke Jacobs, Scott Oberman, Keinen Krishna, Joe Kessler and Rhio. The Young Guns have grown into one of the very best tag teams anywhere in the world, their match against Aussie Open for Rev Pro UK is one of the best tag matches of 2021. Scott Oberman has become one of top young talents in the North West, capturing the TNT Ignition Championship in 2021 and his rivalry with Kameron Solas has produced some incredible matches. Rhio is another performer who has really exploded onto the scene making appearances on the WWE Network via Progress Wrestling and ICW, she also became the Tidal Championship Wrestling’s Women’s Champion. Finally Keinen and Joe Kessler have just started to make a name for themselves, both were involved in the Catch Pro Enygma series, Keinen’s match against Kev Lloyd in this series is one of the best matches of 2021.

Warren Banks

Banks was a finalist in Progress Wrestling’s Natural Progression series and has gone on from strength to strength with every appearance and every match. Banks would eventually avenge his loss to Jacobs in the Natural Progression final, in an excellent rivalry with Jacobs and the other members of North West Strong, Ethan Allen and Chris Ridgeway, including an excellent no rope break match against Ridgeway. Banks can also be seen competing for Sacrifice Pro Wrestling, Purpose Wrestling, Ambush Pro Wrestling, Wrestle Carnival and many more.

Brit Wres is not dead contrary to what you might read on twitter and these incredible young talents are proof of that, in fact there are even more incredible young talents who I did not get to mention in this article, so don’t be surprised to see 10 more young British Wrestlers to watch in 2022.
