Tony Khan Hints That There Are More AEW Debuts To Come
AEW President Tony Khan has produced a lot of memorable debuts as of late. We saw Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, and Ruby Soho debut, in an unforgettable fashion, at All Out. Tony Khan has now teased more AEW signings as we get closer to a few special episodes.
When speaking with Robbie Fox on My Mom’s Basement, Khan fueled the flames of possible surprise debuts. Tony said, “There’s more to come. Surprises to come. I plan to be still active in signing great wrestlers, and I think it’s a great time to be a fan.” (h/t to Wrestling Inc for the transcription)
Khan has pointed to the several special episodes coming up when speaking about possible debuts. He believes that fans will find the coming weeks to be exciting. Tony Khan spoke about possible debuts when he chatted with DAZN. Khan acknowledged the large number of free agents and said, “I’m more than aware that there’s a number of free agents out there, wrestlers I admire too, but I’ve got to say that you just have to keep watching over these next few weeks and not just ‘Winter is Coming.’ There’s the ‘Holiday Bash’ special from Greensboro, North Carolina, that includes the Christmas Day ‘Rampage.’ We have the last ever episode on TNT followed by the debut episode on TBS. There’s ‘Battle of the Belts’ coming in January. I want AEW to run shows that you just can’t miss, and I think these next few weeks are going to be really exciting for fans of wrestling.” (h/t to WrestleTalk for the transcription)
Now that ROH’s Final Battle has passed, there will be a bunch of stars from ROH that will become free agents as of January 1. It also appears that Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly, formerly of NXT, have let their contracts with WWE expire. There are also free agents available from the NXT group released by WWE on November 8.
