Usually at Survivor Series, we see the two midcard champions go head to head in a battle of ‘Brand Warfare’. We are expecting for the WWE United States Champion Damian Priest to take on WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, while both representing their respective brands.
While the matches with the Men’s and Women’s World Title holders have been announced, we have not yet had a match with Priest be announced, but he believes he’ll have a big role in the show.
When talking to Planeta Wrestling, Priest went on to say the following, “I still don’t know what I’m going to do at Survivor Series, but I believe I will play a big role as the United States Champion against someone from SmackDown. I feel like I am a person of importance on my brand, Raw, and I know a lot of people changed brands on the Draft and they value that change. For me, I started on Raw and I am still here, and I am proud to represent Raw. So, against anyone and anything that may be coming, I will go hard in order to represent the brand.” (h/t Luis Pulido of Fightful)
While we wait for the US Champion vs. Intercontinental Champion to be made official, it is likely Priest’s comments will become true. However, in the meantime, Priest has been wrestling as a part of the most recent WWE UK Live Event Tour. His last televised match was when he defeated T-BAR in a Championship Contender’s match.
