WWE Wanted to Make Adam Cole a Manager?

WWE wanted to make Adam Cole a heel manager.

Adam Cole debuting in All Elite Wrestling last night at All Out is on everyone’s minds. WWE would have liked to retain Cole’s services. He served as one of the primary faces associated with their NXT brand. Cole’s tenure in NXT was incredible; very few people would deny that.

Cole staying with WWE would’ve meant elevation to the main roster. Adam Cole’s run on the main roster of WWE could’ve been a great treat for fans, unless of course the original WWE pitch was acted upon.

According to our friends over at Ringside News, a tenured member of WWE’s creative team confirmed that Bruce Prichard and company wanted Adam Cole to become a heel manager on Smackdown. Cole wasn’t linked to a particular client but fans probably wouldn’t have taken this transition well.

Cole has always been magnetic on the microphone, this much is true. However, wasting the remaining years of his in ring prime by converting him to exclusive use as a manager seems short sighted.

Adam Cole is incredible inside the ring as well. He’s a dynamic story teller in between the ropes and fans are already fantasy booking him matches up and down the card.

As always keep it tuned into Bodyslam for more news as it becomes available.
